Important Information

Dahlia tubers sold by Camdene Gardens have been grown in our North Canterbury garden for at least one season. We are passionate about growing beautiful healthy dahlias and are excited to be able to share some of our collection with you this year.

Dahlia tubers vary widely in shape and size, and while some tubers may not win any beauty contests, they sure will grow into stunning plants!  Some will be sent as single tubers and others will be small clumps. Size is not important when it comes to tubers and only viable tubers will be shipped. All tubers are carefully checked for viability prior to shipping and will have at least one eye on the crown with a healthy tuber neck and body. Tubers have not been washed after lifting so they may have some dried dirt attached.

We are meticulous about plant health and always follow strict hygiene practices to help manage and reduce the spread of virus and disease. We always sanitise our cutting tools between plants throughout the harvesting season and also between clumps when dividing.

We carefully check for signs of virus and disease at all stages of the season. This includes at planting time, during the growing season, during lifting, dividing, and prior to shipping.

New varieties of dahlias are planted in a different area in our flower farm to quarantine and observe for disease prior to planting among existing varieties.

Our tubers will be sent out with NO visible signs of disease.

Due to the organic nature of growing dahlias, we cannot take any responsibility if disease develops throughout future growing seasons or if a tuber fails to grow due to undesirable growing conditions. Disease can be present in the soil and can be spread by sucking insects or cutting tools.

Once you receive your tubers, please inspect them and if you have any concerns please get in contact with us within 48 hours so we can resolve the issue.

In the unlikely event of a mislabel, we will happily offer a replacement the following season.

Please note that tubers added to your cart are not guaranteed until payment has been processed. Some varieties have very limited numbers and I apologise for any disappointment if you miss out this year.

Shipping will begin mid-late September. You will be notified via email when your order has been dispatched.

By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to our terms and conditions. We retain the right to cancel or decline any order at our discretion. Should this occur, you will be notified and a full refund will be processed.
